Founder's Day is held annually. The Camden Chapter events of the day acknowledge a "year of sacrifice and service" among the members attending. Fannie Lou Hamer, top left, (1917-1977) is honored for being a dedicated activist in the areas of civil rights, voter discrimination and voter registration. Annual Conference
National Event
The annual meeting of the National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. is held in a different city every year. Our committment to volunteerism is reinforced as well as ways to collectively affect postive change for women and their families. Workshops are conducted surrounding National Leadership Training, Sisterhood bonding and Community networking. Chapter Officers report highlights of their Chapter's strengths and challenges for the year and what future plans of action can improve our roles in the community.
Dr. Wynetta A. Frazier (far left) announced her retirement as President after 30 years of serving the organization in 2009. Deborah Summers, our current President, (far right) continues to inspire everyone's dedication to social change. Such dynamic and caring women are to be celebrated.
